The NEED for SEED: Why am I watching Mobile Suit Gundam SEED when it’s obvious to anyone paying attention how much the show vexes me? (and my god, it does)

1. I want to watch all of Gundam. All of it.
2. Right now I prefer to watch something that pisses me off versus something that bores me (fails to engage me in any way: Victory, X).
3. I am far more pissed at Mobile Report Gundam Wing right now, so I won’t watch that.
4. A shitty Gundam show is ∞ preferable to me than any other kind of shitty show.

And what could possibly explain this kind of irrationality? Simple: I’m that kind of fan. What kind? The kind whose thing he wants is preferable than things that meet broader standards of quality.

So, is Clannad: After Story a better anime show? According to ANN’s list, yes (as of November 22, 2010); but I’d watch Mobile Suit ZZ Gundam (the only real show I truly hate) over that show any day; and so my need for SEED.
